PETER TRELOAR
WINE MAKING MANAGER
Peter Treloar has a connection with the Clare Valley that goes back five generations.
Francis Traloar moved to the township of Watervale in the Clare Valley, following his arrival in Adelaide in 1865.
Francis began to aacquire land and in 1870 he planted the first vines in the area which became known as Springvale.
This was the beginning of a successful business producing wine which was sold locally and exported back to England.
More recently, Peter Treloar, with his wine making partner Stephen Hoff, establsihed Heritage Wines in 1984, just south of the township of Clare.
Heritage Wines moved from the Clare Valley to Marananga in the Barossa Valley in 1986.
Returning to Clare Valley has taken Peter many years, but the opportunity to be involved in the management and making of premium wines from one of CLare’s most sought after regions was an opportunity that could not be missed.
The saying that good wine is made in the vineyard, is the philosophy that was followed when the frst vines were planted at Penna Lane and for all subsequent plantings.
The high level of vineyard management care that was establsihed in the first year of Penna Lane continues to be followed.
Peter and his team are committed to producing the best quality wines they can and hope that all wine lovers continue to enjoy Penna Lane wines.
